La Majada has once again lived with great intensity its patron celebrations in honor of La Purísima, which blessed the village with the passing of the image through its places in a beautiful procession after the mass celebrated last Sunday in his church by the parish vicar of the parish of San Andrés and San Antonio de Padua, David Álvarez de la Campa.
The mass and procession was attended by the mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, the councilor of Festejos, Miguel Ángel Peña, and the councilors of the government team, Plácida Gómez, José María Moreno, Raquel Raja, Silvia García and Francisco José García;
who loaded the throne with the image of the patron during several moments of the tour.
The coexistence during the day continued with a giant paella prepared by the party commission and the friends of Puntas de Calnegre who did not miss their appointment to collaborate with these celebrations, which closed with an afternoon full of good music by the artist David Andreu and the tasting of the traditional chocolate pestiños that the neighbors had prepared days before.
Precisely, the women of La Majada were the protagonists of the exhibition of crafts that on Friday inaugurated the first deputy mayor, Ginés Campillo, accompanied by the councilor of Celebrations, Miguel Angel Peña, and this year's preacher, Rosa Jorquera.
The exhibition stood out for the quality of the elaborated objects and the good taste in its design and elaboration.
This year's festivities once again had consolidated activities, such as the dance festival that celebrated its sixth edition with the usual participation of the schools of 'Juan Antonio Iglesias' and 'De Rosa' or the costume dance with the great piñata and his numerous gifts, as well as with the gastronomic events that bring together neighbors and visitors around a large number of food elaborated by the commission, the neighbors themselves and collaborating companies such as 'The Unexpected'.
