On the occasion of the celebration on Saturday September 21 of the 'World Beach Cleaning Day', the municipal company 'Bahía de Mazarrón Ingeniería Urbana 2007 SLU' has organized with the company 'Siroco Adventures' a collection of waste and cleaning in the coast from the beginning of the Alamillo beach to the border with Cartagena on the Mojón beach.
The activity, called 'Clear Walking', will have as an exit point the esplanade that separates the Alamillo beach from Playa Negra from 9:30 in the morning and all those who wish can go freely.
The participants will be divided into two groups and, from the meeting point, one will reach the Mojón on the border with Cartagena and the other will be responsible for cleaning the entire Alamillo beach.
The initiative is specially designed for young people of the municipality as well as their fathers and mothers.
The estimated duration of the activity will be about two hours and it will count with the tutoring of 1 guide and 2 qualified monitors plus 1 support person.
'Bahía de Mazarrón Urban Engineering 2007' and 'Siroco Aventuras' will provide all attendees with single-use late gloves and garbage bags.
In addition, the first 80 participants will receive a backpack and a canteen as a gift as a reward for their effort in defense of the Environment.
The mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, has encouraged to participate "to all those who feel committed to the defense of the Environment and also of the Marine Environment because, remember, many wastes that end up in the Mediterranean have their origin in the beaches" by which "it is important that we are actively involved in the preservation of nature, which lately seems to be giving us attention to natural disasters that we should not overlook and that have to serve us to reflect."
