The Municipal Day Centre Mazarrón held this Thursday a day of fun activities that served to close the current course.

The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez and Councillor for Social Policy, Laura Ortiz, accompanied at the start of the event, users, families and professionals.

Currently 11 patients make use of the Unit and other Dementias Alzheimer in the Municipal Day Centre Mazarrón.

A psychologist, an occupational therapist, physical therapist and caregiver work daily with users.

The attention given successful in slowing the progression of the disease, says Andrea Jorquera, a psychologist at the unit.

With patients, divided into two (mild and moderate) groups, professionals working in cognitive stimulation and individualized therapies.

With cognitive stimulation attempt to preserve capabilities such as perception, memory and attention while working on individual therapies custom problems such as anxiety, depression or certain phobias.
