Associations, federations, academies and dance schools emphasize the role of women in the world of work. From February 24 to March 12, Mazarrón hosts a varied agenda of events that will culminate in the awarding of the Women's Mazarronera 2017 (21/02/2017)

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez and the Councilor for Equality, Laura Ortiz, presented on Tuesday the program of events organized by the City Council on the occasion of the International Day of Working Women to be held on 8 March with the motto for 2017 Entitled "Women in a changing world of work: towards a planet 50-50 in 2030".

The presentation was also attended by the head of the CAVI, Rosa Jorquera and the mazarronera and Entrepreneurial Award 2015, Sheila Templado.

The Mayor, Alicia Jiménez, thanked the involvement of the various institutional, social and private actors in a program that defends the role of women and the defense of equality policies.

The agenda of events begins this Friday February 24 with an Active Aging Day, organized by the Federation of Rural Women's Associations (FADEMUR) and will take place in the Cultural Center from 10:00 to 13:00 hours.

That same day, at 20:00 hours, also in the Cultural Center, Juan Alvarez will present the book entitled "Why do not you love me?".

On Sunday, March 5, at 9:30 am, a 6-km hiker route organized by the Friends of Nature Hiking Club will start at the gas station of El Alamillo.

The events will continue on March 8, at 12:00 in the Town Hall Square, with the Reading of the Manifesto of the Day of Working Women.

At 7:00 pm, in the Cultural Center, the Organization of Women Entrepreneurs and Professionals (OMEP) program the conference entitled "Business Experiences of Women Mazarron", by Sheila Templado.

Next will be the discussion table "Stories of Overcoming" with the participation María Ángeles Palazón, Mercedes Bosque and Amorina Andrea.

On Saturday, March 11, at 12 noon, flashmob show of the Antonio Jara dance school, starting at the weekly and final market in the Town Hall square.

The program of events culminates on Sunday, March 12, at 7:00 p.m., at the Cultural Center with the award of the Mujer Mazarronera 2017, an act that will feature the performance of the Terpsichore Academy.
