Coinciding with the beginning of the Curaresma, the church of San José de Puerto de Mazarrón hosted this Wednesday the presentation of the poster and the programming of Holy Week in Puerto de Mazarrón.
In addition, the names of the pregonera and nazareno of the year were announced.
On Friday of Dolores (April 7), after the Holy Mass (19:00 hours), the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez, will officiate the proclamation that will give way to the set of events scheduled until Easter Sunday.
Bartolomé Madrid, member of the Brotherhood of San Juan, will be named Nazarene of the year.
San Juan stars in the Holy Week of Puerto de Mazarrón in 2017. The president of this brotherhood, José de la Cruz, presented the poster, based on a photograph of Pedro Durán.
The calendar of processions will start on Palm Sunday (April 9) at 12:30 pm with the Ramos Procession which, as usual, will start at the San Antón Hermitage in the San Isidro neighborhood in the direction of the church of Saint Joseph.
The Martes Santo (April 11) will parade for the second consecutive year the Brotherhood of Former Legionaries of the Region of Murcia.
It will be after the Holy Mass of 20.30 with start and end of the tour in the church of San José de Puerto de Mazarrón.
The brotherhood will shoulder the image of the Crucified Christ.
On Holy Thursday (April 13) at 9:30 p.m., Procession of Our Father Jesus Nazarene and Good Friday (April 14) at 9:30 p.m., Procession of the Holy Burial.
Abel Rosa, parish priest of San José, hosted an event that was attended by the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Martínez and the top management positions of the Cabildo de Cofradías de Puerto de Mazarrón, as well as the president of the Cazardo de Mazarrón .
