About 300 cyclists arrive in Puerto de Mazarrón next Sunday (07/04/2017)

In addition to a bike ride to the coastal town, cyclists and mazarroneros can enjoy a concert of the group Punto y Aparte and a story about sustainable mobility in the El Castelar chiringuito.

The Port of Mazarrón is the second destination of the cyclists participating in the Achoencuentros, an event that brings together 300 cyclists from all over the country who are discovering the secrets of the Region of Murcia with the only energy of their legs.

Starting from Totana on Sunday morning, cyclists will cross areas as well known as La Majada (whose Ermita was founded around 1735 by Cardinal Belluga) and Las Moreras (archaeological site of Cabezo del Plomo) until arriving in the afternoon at Puerto de Mazarrón, where the beautiful Gredas de Bolnuevo and the viewpoint of Cabezo del Gavilán await you.

In addition, those who choose the alternative route proposed by Murcia in Bici, may bathe in the coves of Percheles and Bolnuevo.

The Achoencuentros are part of the Cicloturistas Encounters, which every two years organizes one of the 54 entities that are part of ConBici (State Coordinator in Defense of the Bicycle) to visit different zones of the Spanish geography, realizing not only routes that emphasize Most beautiful of each zone;

But enjoying cultural, gastronomic, recreational and educational activities that make these types of meetings a different way to enjoy the bicycle.

This year 2017 and in its XVIII edition, the Association Murcia en Bici is in charge of organizing these meetings which, through a route with 9 stages that takes place from 8 to 16 April, takes the participants pedaling through emblematic places, Crossing some of the most important cities and, of course, knowing the sea and the mountain that gives us our region.

Thanks to the collaboration of the City Council of Mazarrón, cyclists will be able to clean themselves and spend the night in the Miguel Delibes Pavilion and visit the Interpretation Center Barco Fenicio de Mazarrón and the Archaeological Museum Factoría Romana de Salazones, which extend their schedule on Sunday afternoon And on Monday morning to receive them.

In addition, in collaboration with the El Castelar chiringuito, will be held on April 9 a story on sustainable mobility at 20:30 hours and a concert of the group Punto y Aparte at 21:30 hours, which will brighten the evening with their versions Pop, rock and Spanish rumba of the last decades.

Without a doubt, a special way to end a unique journey full of tradition and culture that the Achoencuentros want to share with all the Mazarroneros.

The Achoencuentros want, in addition to bringing together passionate cyclists, to demonstrate to citizens that cycling is one of the most efficient means of transport in short-distance distance and promote a different form of tourism, sustainable and clean tourism.

In addition, these meetings want to be a tool that demands social change, both in the way of understanding the mobility and in the way we relate to each other during the trip.
