Mazarrón makes official its adhesion to the manifesto for the equality of opportunities between men and women (18/04/2017)

The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, has invited to attend next Thursday the days to be held by the Organization of Women Entrepreneurs and Professionals (OMEP) in the Cultural Center throughout the morning of Thursday and which will be presented the manual " Emprender and Consolidar en Femenino ".

Alicia Jiménez recalled the commitment made by the current government team in its commitment to comply with Organic Law 3/2007 of March 22.

The mayor has emphasized the importance of detecting discriminatory practices and the need to implement measures that advocate a more egalitarian society, fostering employment and generating entrepreneurship.

In this sense, Alicia Jimenez has highlighted the figures of increase that in number of autonomous especially of the feminine gender that is registering the municipality and that will be made known next Thursday.

The conference will be inaugurated at 10:30 am by the director general of Women of the Region of Murcia, Alicia Barquero.

Previously, the Manifesto for Equal Opportunities will be signed.

In this way, Mazarrón joins other municipalities that have already acquired this commitment as are those of Murcia and Cehegín, as well as media and political parties in the Region of Murcia.

The content of the conference program was presented by Alicia Jiménez together with the OMEP representative in Mazarrón and the Entrepreneurial Award 2015, Sheilla Templado.

During the conference the Regional Strategic Plan for Equality between Women and Men will be announced and the manual "Emprender y consolidar en femenino" will be presented by Magdalena Fernández, delegate of OMEP in the Northwest of the Region.

The event will count on the participation of entrepreneurs from Mazarron who will participate in a Round Table.

According to Templado, Francisca Madrid, president of the Association of Merchants of Mazarrón and Comarca (ACOMA) and Nieves Fuentes, a pharmacist in Puerto de Mazarrón, have confirmed their attendance.

The conference will be closed by the mayor, Alicia Jiménez, around 13:00 hours.

The presentation of days was attended by the Councilor for Women, Laura Ortiz and the Councilor for Employment and Local Development, María Ángeles Román.
