Costas disciplinary proceedings initiated against the clearing Perich on the coast of Mazarrón after allegations of ANSE (18/08/2011)

The Association of Naturalists has received written Southeast Coasts of which heralds the onset of disciplinary proceedings against the company Perich SL Agricultural Association for the condition to Maritime Terrestrial Public Domain (DPMT) and easements breaks reported in the July.

Also, the Coasts reported adversely by the proposed works to DPMT condition.

In late June, the Southeastern Association of Naturalists reported the clearing of nearly 50 hectares in the coastline off the coast of Mazarrón.

These cracks developed by the company Perich irreversibly affected vegetation, including protected species, and relief of the area.

Then the condition Association denounced the Maritime Public Domain Land and easements (to protect transit 100 m and 6 m).

The letter sent by the Coasts of the Association of Southeastern Naturalist confirms that "has plowed some of the parcels in transit easement area and occasional clearings made in maritime-terrestrial public domain."

For this reason, Costas announced that "steps are being initiated appropriate sanctions from this Coasts."

ANSE remember that even if the breaks had environmental clearance from the then Department of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, had no additional authorizations for the possible involvement of Maritime Terrestrial Public Domain and the Public Water and authorization of the City of Mazarrón.

In this sense, the commodity is processed by the Directorate General of Ports and Coasts of the Autonomous authorization for the clearing of land (already done) and construction of embankments over 3 meters in the vicinity of sea-land public domain.

In relation to this procedure the Coasts reported "the reclamation of land adversely, earthwork embankments with more than 3 meters and subsequent installation of greenhouses and fencing of the existing pine area" considering the impact on landscape and other impacts (runoff, trailers, etc.) generated on DPMT.

ANSE hopes that the other authorities involved (DG Environment, Hydrographic Confederation of Segura and the Municipality of Mazarrón) work diligently to resolve possible irregularities and to restore the land to its original state, compensating for the destruction of habitats of interest Community and protected species.
