Start the XXXV National Meeting of Young Geographers (21/02/2012)

Yesterday started in the House of Arts at the University of Murcia the XXXV National Meeting of Young Geographers to be held through Thursday at various points in the region.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Mazarron, Ginés Campillo, who expressed his satisfaction with the visit of young geographers held tomorrow to the municipality.

Ginés Campillo said that young people who came from different universities in Spain "will certainly enjoy Mazarron, not only for its beauty and climate, but also learning opportunities afforded by the Bolnuevo Erosions and Rambla de Las Moreras ".

The conference, organized by the Young Geographers of the Region of Murcia (GEOMUR) in collaboration with the City of Mazarron, the College of Geographers and the University of Murcia (UMU), will feature lectures and round tables to be studied phenomena such as earthquakes, droughts, floods, erosion or desertification.

Francisco López Bermúdez, Francisco Calvo, Jorge Olcina, Francisco Chacon and Jose Belmonte will be among the speakers who will participate in this meeting, which runs until next Thursday.

This activity is coordinated by a young geographer Mazarron, Daniel Moreno, who yesterday once again thanked the consistory their support and participation in this meeting.

Around 150 young people will arrive tomorrow to Mazarron which will be attended by the Councillor for the Environment, David Fernandez.
