Mazarrón honors his privilege with a sober event which marks its arrival in 1572 (10/09/2012)

On Friday afternoon, the Plenary Hall of the Town Hall of Mazarrón hosted an event with which Villa Privilege honored and remembered his arrival in 1572 to the municipality.

The beautiful and historical building was the ideal place to hold an extraordinary plenary session opened by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo.

The mayor immediately began reading the first few sentences of 440 years ago Privilege King Philip II signed and which granted independence to the Houses of Almazarrón alums.

Spokesmen for the different local political groups represented in Parliament followed the steps of the Mayor and also read part of the document before a packed Council Chamber.

Behind them, spoke the official chronicler of the Villa, Mariano C.

Guillen, who delivered a certificate commemorating this celebration which emphasized the importance to the town assumed its independence, making a brief but intense historical overview of Mazarrón life since that September 7, 1572 came to the villa its privilege.

Then Ginés Campillo Mayor addressed the audience an elegant speech in which he stressed that "this act show, once again, to feel pride Mazarron (...) today is one of those days you will remember with fondness Mazarrón by be a date that, henceforth, many neighbors have this as the day that the arrival of our independence meant a radical change in the lives of our countrymen, "said the mayor.

Ginés Campillo also stressed that this act "should not lead us to never forget our past. A bear in mind that we have been land since Phoenician times traders, miners, farmers and workers mostly. Of people who have known how to fight and offer the best of herself to convert Mazarrón in what today is. All that work, all those years ... are now, more than ever, a true sense. never before had decided to value our history and never before our neighbors, may have felt better clothed by a celebration that, basically, has been dedicated to them. Completed his words, the Municipal Council decided to recognize the work of mayors who have governed Mazarrón with a tribute to the former councilors who have led the town since the entry into force of the current Spanish Constitution.

At the mayors, and the relatives of the deceased, were given a beautiful bronze coin edited for this special occasion.

Juan Acosta Paredes, Mariano Yúfera Guirao, Pedro Muñoz Ballesta, Dominic Valera Lopez, Raja Jose Mendez, Jose de la Cruz Sanchez Navarro and Francisco Blaya Blaya mayors were honored, although neither Pedro Muñoz and Francisco Blaya could be present.

With this recognition the extraordinary plenary session closed and Mayor then gave the floor to the President of the Regional Assembly of Murcia, Francisco Vidal Celdran.

He explained in his entertaining speech as opposed Lorca independence of Mazarrón, Murcia while struggling with Lorca by taking control of the Houses of the Alums.

Cartagena was displaced in the fighting.
