Seized hundreds of illegal items at the flea market Mazarrón port (19/02/2013)

On Sunday February 17, the local police conducted a Mazarrón operating nearby weekly market held in Puerto de Mazarrón in their efforts aimed at tackling illegal trade.

The operation led to the seizure of various fruit counterfeit material known as the "street vendors" intended to sell illegally.

The municipal body officials seized 80 sweatshirts and 18 tracksuits "Adidas", 1400 pirated CDs and deuvedés, 150 slips of top brands and several poles "Ralph Lauren" and jeans imitating various large firms of this type of clothing.

All this material, upon completion of the statutory time limits, will be destroyed as required by law in Article 32.1, second paragraph of the Law 23/2006 of the Intellectual Property.

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, stressed that "continue to fight against the illegal sale as it is our obligation to defend those businessmen and traders in the town who pay their taxes and fees in order to operate."

Also, the mayor has made clear that "we will comply with what the law tells us that all this indicates that counterfeit material that violates intellectual property is destroyed after the relevant deadlines."
