The Barranco de Gebas, star of the hiking route following "Friends of Nature" (08/04/2013)

The Department of Sports City of Mazarrón and hiking club "Friends of Nature" have organized a new walking route for the month of April, this time, will take participants to the neighboring town of Alhama de Murcia, where will visit one of the most beautiful spots in the region: the Barranco de Gebas.

The route also has the collaboration of the Department of Environment of the City of Alhama.

The event is scheduled for Sunday, April 28.

The output, which will be held in own cars from the sports hall "The Aceña" to the point of beginning, is scheduled for 8 am.

The route has a medium difficulty and consists of 12 kilometers, which will always flown in the days before the activity does not rain in the area because if it rains or has rained recently, the route will be suspended by the inability to walk this soil type.

Participants who are not federated must provide 3 euros for performing route for insurance, while urging all walkers to bring their own lunch and water as they come back at noon.

The Barranco de Gebas a protected landscape of the Region of Murcia.

It is a desert-like space, like a lunar landscape formed by gullies, canyons and ravines, which provides a spectacular image.

With 2271 hectares, is divided between the municipalities of Alhama de Murcia and Librilla.

His main interest lies in its geomorphological structure with an origin in influencing particular streams, but also on the existence of integrated ecosystem.
