Interesting and fun day at the "World Day of migratory birds" (17/05/2013)

On Saturday May 11, scores of people celebrated the "World Day of Migratory Birds" by participating in various activities organized by the Department of Environment of the City of Mazarrón and the Association of Southeast Naturalists (Anse).

Under the theme "Networks for migratory birds" and within the project "Conservation of the White-headed Duck in the Region of Murcia. Spain" initiatives were carried out both within the council and in the gaps of the Rambla de "The mulberry "wetland of international importance listed as RAMSAR.

The Councillor for the Environment, David Fernandez, welcomed participants to the session, which was held a talk on the project "Life".

Then began a tourist cycle route from Mazarron to said wetland where there was a sighting session and migratory bird ringing, and various children's activities.

The mayor of the Environment has stressed that it was "an interesting day in defense of nature, the environment and the natural heritage of our town where participants learned interesting aspects of the white-headed duck and other birds."

The activity has been included in the LIFE09/ES/000516 Project "Conservation of White-headed Duck in the Region of Murcia. Spain", D1 action.

The Department of Environment of the City of Mazarrón partner has been the beneficiary of the action that has been developed Anse.
