"Around the World in 80 Days" reap a great success (20/05/2013)

This past Saturday, May 18, and under the "Family Concerts: musical stories for all ages", the school's theater group "The Flour mill" and the Band Musical Association "Master Eugenio Calderón" staged 'Around the World in 80 Days ".

Around three hundred people enjoyed this work, a self-produced musical story, whose initiative born in the musical association, but in the realization of which have involved both the College "The Flour mill" as Rafael García Castillo, head of the adaptation that summarizes the works of Jules Verne, alternating narrative, theater and music.

Under the baton of Alexander Castañeda Martínez, head of the musical selection that accompanies the story, the band played songs like "Pomp and Circumstance", the select club atmosphere for London's protagonist, Mr. Phileas Fogg, "Sad Song "as background to the shocking story of Aouda, the girl, who escapes a horrible death at the stake by the intervention of Passepartout, the loyal French servant or" Inspector Gadget "leitmotif Inspector Fix, blinded in the Phileas idea Fox stop the robber believe the Bank of England.

These and other pieces of music, and environmental sounds such as the running of the train, elephant or horse carriage, linked in history with expertise and perfectly coordinated with actors and narrators, delighted the audience for fifty minutes with the exciting adventures of the protagonists.

The large cast, under the direction of Professor Elena Fernández Moreno, was formed by Alvaro Zamora Carreño in the role of Phileas Fog, Lorenzo García Díaz his servant "Passepartout", Maria Cabrera Martinez as Aouda, Thomas Zamora Ballesta, Inspector Fix, Raja Daniel Aparicio, Diego Gonzalez and Brenda Vivancos Garro Valverde, as Mr X, Mr Y and Mr Z, members of the Reform Club with which the protagonist makes the bet, Gonzalo Garcia Pagan is Sir Francis Cromarty, a fellow traveler and Francisco Ros Aguera embodied both a Hindu priest and a policeman English.

In addition to the narrators and storytellers, Maria Noguera Ureña, Blaya Ana Acosta, Paola García Muñoz, Laura Méndez García, David Mendez Lara and Ana Isabel Muñoz Vivancos that scene in and out of different episodes telling the story.

All, actors and actress, storytellers and narrators, did an excellent job of interpretation, entertaining audiences and starting laughing in comic scenes.

The entire educational community CEIP "the Flour mill" has been involved in the preparation of the work, from the preparation of the new curtains, to the beautiful and elaborate scenery painted by Isabel Iborra, a professor from the center, through the careful selection of clothing period both actors as narrators, what resulted in a magnificent staging.

Music Association and the school "the Flour mill" are satisfied with this collaborative experience, though long and laborious, has achieved a very satisfactory result, and announced the possibility of a second performance of "Around the World in 80 Days" September.
