The budgets envisaged for university grants and aid to low-income families with school-age children (29/04/2015)

The full City Council Tuesday approved Mazarrón municipal budgets of 2015 with seven votes in favor and thirteen abstentions.

For this financial year estimates in excess of 28 million euros includes expenses assuming an increase of 0.9% compared to the previous year.

A surplus of 1 million 200 thousand euros, higher than expected in the Adjustment Plan follows.

The revenues will be lower as a result of reductions in property tax receipts and lasta rates of municipal solid waste.

As stated by the mayor, Francisco Garcia, social policy increase every game, especially highlighting the social emergency aid for moving from 94000-134000 euros and professional services of special care for people with disabilities, Alzheimer's disease and other passing of 134000-300000 euros.

Besides the mayor announced that new budgets include the intention to reopen in summer school canteens and continue contemplating reductions and exemptions in water rates, sewerage and solid waste, in addition to grants for payment of IBI for families scarce resources.

To revive the local economy, the budget includes a commitment to work in small streets of the municipality "by circulating money spent on trade of the town," according to Francisco Garcia.

In addition, many of the shops, bars, restaurants and small supermarkets still displayed benefited from the reduction in the rate of garbage.

Also increase subsidies to non-profit organizations like the Red Cross, as well as sports clubs.

There will, as stated by the mayor, three new grants.

50 000 euros for scholarships for university students, 50 000 euros for families with school-age children with limited resources and 10 billion euros will be allocated to subsidize bus ticket to college in the municipality.

Another novelty of the new budget will be the inclusion of an item for the rental of a hotel facility with option to create a School of Hospitality in our town and Mazarrón make a reference in the tourist and hospitality industry.

Beside budgets Relationship of Jobs (RPT) it was approved by adapting the conditions of various municipal labor jobs, equating to their similar category.

Also it approved in the Framework Agreement and the Collective Agreement of municipal workers.

Previously, an extraordinary plenary session served to circumvent the members of polling stations ahead of the elections on May 24.

At the beginning of the session, the corporation held a minute's silence in memory of the thousands of deaths from the earthquake in Nepal.
