The Ministry of Water will perform works to improve the sewerage system of Mazarron which serves 12,000 inhabitants (04/08/2015)

The Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment will invest, through the Directorate General for Water, in improving the sewerage system of Mazarron, on the bay management area.

The works are carried out at the behest of the City of Mazarrón and will involve improving sanitation network services a registered population of about 12,000 inhabitants, amounting to about 100,000 in summer.

The Minister of Water, Agriculture and Environment, Adela Martinez-Cache, today announced the upcoming completion of the work by the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez.

The work will include extending the existing collector at Sierra de las Moreras, by installing a new one greater than the current capacity.

Specifically, the execution of a collector with PVC pipe with a nominal diameter of 300 mm at a length of 300 meters, and the corresponding replacements of affected services and manholes necessary contemplated.

It is also intended to eliminate the problem of limited capacity of the existing drainage collector Avenue Bolnuevo again by building along the streets of Rio Argos Island and one to connect with the collector Via Axial also , a pumping station wastewater is removed.

The project includes a PVC pipe of 400 mm nominal diameter and sealed wells of the same material to reduce the infiltration of seawater.

Investment in the two performances will reach 400,000 euros.

Construction will begin in late 2015 so that the infrastructure can come into operation by the summer of 2016.

Rural roads

On the other hand, the Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment will perform renovation and improvement of two well-traveled country roads Mazarrón, serving as homes, greenhouses and crops.

This is the road that links the Media League in Las Balsicas, known as the 'way of the cat', in the hamlet of Las Balsicas, with a length of 2.6 km, and the road of Mazarrón The Lorentes-Mills (CR 26-12) linking the urban area of ​​the town and the road to Las Balsicas, and has a length of 5.8 km.
