Prior to the celebration of the Holy Innocents Sunday, the residents of the hamlet of Las Balsicas Mazarron again follow the tradition, as they have done for over two centuries.

The venue hosted the chapel, first, the celebration of Holy Easter Mass with singing by the folktale.

The mayor, Alicia Jimenez and Councilman Celebration, Patricio Sánchez attended, along with other members of the municipal corporation.

Once the religious ceremony gave way to popular braying, by Paco "Minister" and Bartolo "The Taibilla".

First, as tradition dictates, this ancient custom with the mayor and the parish priest of the Church of San José de Mazarron, Abel Rosa Roman was staged.

Then, funny images were staging in the grounds of the shrine.

Councilors, many residents and visitors were not spared the arts of brayers that followed the proper steps marked by his ancestors.

The "braying" Las Balsicas follow a tradition of over 200 years and has its origin in the construction of the small chapel in honor of the Immaculate Conception.

It was then, when the donkeys, which were the main elements of transport, materials had to climb to the top of the hill where it was would find the hermitage.

All they finished exhausted but one that, according to neighborhood witnesses, frolicked and brayed incessantly.

Young people gathered there laughed the attitude of the animal and began to imitate him.

The story was remembered year after year to become a popular celebration.

The rebuznador, wearing a hat with ribbons of colors brays ear to the right person elected or mimicking their grooming with a large comb, a horseshoe, spikes and hammer.

The good humor and understanding, always within the logical festive context, reign for a day of fun and quirky coexistence.

The festivities continued in Las Balsicas with a giant paella for all attendees and already in the afternoon with a musical performance by David Andreu.
