The Mazarron celebrate World Environment day at the Town Hall Square (05/06/2008)

From 9:00 am 450 students from various schools in the municipality and teachers enjoy the activities, which are held on the occasion of World Environment Day and develop in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

Not only them, because many people are surprised as they pass through this place so central, emblematic of the town, which today has become a different space where the recycling and proper use of containers are the main guidelines to raise awareness among citizens.

The mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, together with the Councillor for the Environment, Juana Maria Morales, participated in the development of these workshops and games.

Proof of this is that both have stepped into this space dedicated to caring for the environment, sharing activities and workshops with children and giving them gifts.

A total of six monitors have guided the students in the adventure of knowledge and respect for the environment through activities, distributed in various areas among which are the tents to recycle oil and water saving.

Similarly, another of the most surprising has been found thirty stands where the young have captured the color of each of the solid waste containers.

Town Hall Square is also home throughout the morning a "domino giant water" and a "pool balls, two activities designed for the enjoyment and the enjoyment of school with which combines entertainment and knowledge.

An information stand Mazarrón City Council and one from Friends of Nature Club of Mazarrón are meeting places for citizens to know the most appropriate measures to respect the environment, as well as brochures and gifts.

The visit to the moving point and exposure "Mazarrón in 50 pictures" by photographer John Smith Calventus Mazarron in the town hall complete this wide range of events in which shines a special message: "to raise awareness among citizens of the municipality to protect the environment through recycling and proper use and respect for natural resources. "

Participants in this environmental space have been treated to a wild olive plant, native tree that is part of the traditional Mediterranean forest that once inhabited the mountains Mazarron.
