The Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport, through the Directorate General for Transport and Highways, initiated in November works to improve the road between Mazarrón and Lorca Morata council, which will involve an investment of 1,753,826 euros.
Thus, the Ministry has initiated the process of hiring the refurbishment of the path of this road, the D-4, and improving road safety itself.
The draft of the highway, regional ownership, affects a stretch of six miles, between mile markers 3 and 9.
The D-4 joins the MU-603, Mazarrón round, with the D-8, from which you access the town of Lorca.
It is a tertiary road linking the town of Mazarrón with various communities scattered along its route that increase in population and economic activity and therefore in traffic.
This road has sections with a path in both plan and elevation, it is necessary to adapt to new traffic requirements, with many curves of radius of 100 meters.
The improvement project and improvement of the section plans to expand the radius of existing curves so as to minimize the risk of accidents.
