The Government delegate has projects worth EUR 5.7 million authorized by the Government of Spain for Mazarrón (02/02/2009)

The Government delegate congratulated the Guardia Civil at the increasing number of detainees and crimes solved

The eight projects approved by the Government of Spain will create 99 direct jobs and invigorate the town's economy

The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, has co-chaired this morning, with the mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, the Local Security Board of the municipality.

Then analyzed the eight projects approved by the City Government of Spain, amounting to 5.7 million euros, designed to foster job creation and economic revitalization of it.

In the Local Security Board were analyzed issues related to public safety in the municipality and the delegate of the Government has stressed the importance of coordination of actions between the National Police, the Guardia Civil and Local Police to achieve a greater effectiveness in their efforts to prevent and protect citizens.

González Tovar has been reported crimes falling by 16.7 percent and failures by 24.7 percent in 2008.

"Improvements, stressed that carry with them a greater effectiveness of the work done by the Guardia Civil, who has been able to increase by 25.3 per cent of crimes solved and 72.8 percent the number of detainees, whose number was 180 in 2007 and 311 in 2008. "

Moreover, the government delegate also assessed positively the increase of staff in Mazarrón civil guard, whose headquarters currently has 53 staff, 82.8 percent more than in 2004, which had 29 troops .

These would have to add 6 more guards that form the template Patrol Territorial Prosecutor.

5.7 M € from the Local Investment Fund

González Tovar and Francisco Blaya submitted eight projects requested by the City of Mazarrón under the Local Investment Fund, which will involve a total investment of 5.7 M €, which can make creating important works of Hall 99 direct jobs.

Such actions have been selected by the municipal government team due to their need and their autonomy, while the Government of Spain has agreed to finance in full if it satisfies the requirement of creating jobs.

Among the projects, the delegate stressed the construction of a new Market at the Avenue of the Constitution with an investment from the State Fund of € 3 million and will generate 25 direct jobs.

He also noted the interest of other works such as:

Adapting and improving accessibility in the avenues Tierno Galván and Dr. Mecca in El Puerto de Mazarrón (750,000 €, 10 jobs).

The improvement of sports facilities at the Sports Centre of Puerto de Mazarrón and the adequacy of sports courts at the College Ginés García Martínez (1.1 M €, 24 jobs, including both actions).

The various improvements in the settlement of several streets in the municipality, through the improvement works on the pavement, paving, access or renewal of the sewerage system (1.4 M €, 41 workstations).

The rehabilitation of the City Planning units (232,000 euros, 9 workers).

The Government delegate noted that "l at the discretion of Government I represent is to create jobs and stimulate economic activity in Mazarrón.

To this end, a fund has been nearly a billion pesetas available to the City Council, which will undoubtedly result in improved quality of life of citizens of this county at a time that is crucial. "

23 M € of investments financed by the State

Moreover, Gonzalez Tovar has done a review of the state's investments in the municipality of Mazarrón to be financed with regional and local administrations.

Among these has highlighted the € 1.1 million from the Inter-Territorial Compensation Fund, provided by the Government of Spain, which will go towards the construction of a new Health Centre in Puerto de Mazarron, and the second deferred 21.5 M € for the construction of the highway linking Mazarrón and Totana, opened last summer.

The Government delegate reported that the Government of Spain also invested 260,000 euros to improve the drainage of the Bay of Puerto de Mazarrón and 210,000 euros for the construction of new storm sewers.
