Mazarrón host the Day of the Nazarene (24/02/2009)

The mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, and the Councillor of Culture, Alicia Jiménez, presented this morning to the media Nazarene Day this year hosted by the municipality.

In this event also attended by the President of the Cabildo of guilds of Mazarrón, Ginés Campos, along with representatives of the guilds of Mazarrón who have shown great interest in the development of this coexistence between fraternities.

On Sunday, March 15, will be the celebration of the Nazarene in a day filled with events to commemorate this special date.

For this event is expected to attend about a thousand people from different Brotherhoods of the entire region and other nearby provinces.

The activities begin at 9:00 am with the reception of visitors who will attend the inauguration of the monument commemorating the Day of the Nazarene, and a sightseeing tour of the main monuments and areas of interest of the municipality, the historic center, stopping in the Castle of Vélez, the Town Hall and the Sanctuary of the Virgin.

Another moment that will host this day will be the presentation of guilds and the City with an illustrative video projection covering the history of the headlines of each guild steps of the municipality are Nuestro Padre Jesus, San Juan Evangelista, The Tomb and The Soledad.

The event, organized by the municipality of Mazarrón through the Department of Culture and the council of guilds of Mazarrón, will close with Mass at the Church of San Andrés and procession through the streets of Mazarrón.
