Mazarrón, a sea story (01/08/2009)

The municipality of Mazarrón has lived a very special night to celebrate the twenty-fifth edition of "Story Contest Villa de Mazarrón - Mowing Antonio del Olmo."

The event, which took place in an idyllic setting facing the immensity of the Bay of Mazarrón in the Social Club in the Marina de Mazarrón, has been chaired by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, and the Minister of Culture and Tourism Pedro Alberto Cruz, who were accompanied by the Competition Jury, consisting of: the writer Zoé Valdés, literary critic and journalist Rosa Pereda, poet and literary critic Soren Peñalver, theater director and doctor Rafael García Castillo, Lola Grace journalist and secretary José María López Ballesta.

A cultural event have come to many personalities from the worlds of politics and literature among which were the Director General of Books, Archives and Libraries, Francisco Giménez, members of the Governing Body and the Opposition Group.

The Councillor of Culture and Tourism, Alicia Jiménez, has begun the evening with an emotionally charged speech in which he appealed to the maturity of the twenty-fifth Story Contest Mazarron Villa Olmo Antonio Segado of which has reached a high impact on all the world.

In his words Jimenez also has collaborated for citizens to let their artistic crop.

Then, José María López has theorized about the story in words in which he quoted great writers of the stature of Gabriel García Márquez.

Also, Ballesta López said that "the story is not sought, it is."

After his heartfelt words, proceeded to officially announce the awarding of the prizes this year, who agreed unanimously to give first prize Eloy López Grandal for the story entitled 'The other' and the second prize to Alejandro Cuevas' Apotheosis of the link '.

Pedro Alberto Cruz and Alicia Jimenez have given the first prize of 3,600 euros, and its intrinsic plate Eloy López Grandal, who has encouraged writers to participate in this event since it is a perfect way to keep learning.
