Flowers for the Virgin (16/11/2009)

The Sunday afternoon session was brought to the town of Mazarrón the traditional floral offering to the Virgin of La Purisima, from a hospice to the Sanctuary of Mazarrón.

The Bugle and Drum Band has opened the procession followed closely by young and old, dressed in regional costume, as well as for the rest of Mazarron who wanted to contribute their bit with flowers.

Groups and associations in the municipality of Mazarrón have joined this cause, carrying flowers, during the tour to commemorate the arrival of the image to the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

Mazarrón City Council has also offered flowers to the Virgin in an event which featured the mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, accompanied by the Councillor for Fiestas, Luisa María Heredia, Councillor of Culture, Alicia Jimenez, Councilman Public Safety, Second Muñoz, Councillor of Education, Concepción Ballesta, Councillor for Social Policy, Yolanda Vivancos, Councillor for the Care of Foreign Residents, Jacqueline Galvez, and Councilman Services, Salvador Ardil.

Once in the sanctuary, people have placed flowers on the altar next to the Virgin.

Then the parish priest of Mazarrón, Julio Romero, has officiated a Mass in which he has gained particular importance is the remarkable appearance of flowers at the Virgen de la Purisima.

This act is framed in programming Bolnuevo celebrations 2009 which runs until Sunday, November 22 to mark the Day of the Pilgrimage.

Proclamation of the Festival of Bolnuevo Ferrándiz by Carlos Araujo, writer and doctor.

The event will take place in the tent at the beach parties Bolnuevo, then Magazine Ricki sing and dance with the "Andalusian boy," Veronica Lozano and his dancers.

Upon completion attendees will enjoy a wine of honor.
