Juan Pinedo Reyes, underwater archaeologist and graduate in Prehistory and Archeology from the Autonomous University of Madrid will offer on Saturday, May 26 (12:00 h) at the Roman Salting Factory of Puerto de Mazarrón the conference entitled "Mazarron Fenicio. and Research ".
The activity is organized by the Department of Historical Heritage of the City of Mazarrón.
Pinedo is one of the directors of the Course of Underwater Archeology that carries out his prospections in the vicinity of the beach of La Isla, where the wrecks were found from the 7th century BC He is an associate researcher at the Institute of Nautical Archeology of the A & M University of Texas (INA), monitor of the Unesco-Spain International Training Course and professor at the Center for Near East and Late Antiquity Studies (CEPOAT) of the University of Murcia (2015-2017).
Throughout his career, he has directed more than twenty surveys and underwater excavations highlighting the Phoenician ships of Mazarrón (s.VII aC), the Roman wrecks of Escombreras (Cartagena) and the campaigns on the Phoenician ship of the Bajo de la Bell in San Javier.
