500 schoolchildren from all over the Region of Murcia will be in Mazarrón this Saturday, June 2 to participate in the regional final of beach volleyball and matt sports included in the School Sports Program.
The activity will take place throughout the morning on the beach of Bahía Grande.
The general director of Sports, Alonso Gómez López, the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez and the Councilor for Sports, Patricio Sánchez, have presented an appointment in which two schools of the municipality will be represented: CEIP Infanta Leonor de Mazarron and CEIP Manuela Romero from Puerto de Mazarrón.
The juvenile, infant, cadet and juvenile categories, both male and female, will compete.
The games will start at 9:00 am and the trophies are scheduled for 12:00 in the case of beach volleyball and at 13:30 in the case of mate.
For the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, "this is one more opportunity for the municipality to show its kindness and its projection as a tourist place to host an event that involves the visit of those who participate in it and their families."
Gómez López has highlighted the commitment of the regional executive for School Sports, given the importance of "inculcating sports practice among younger generations."
In the same line has been expressed the mayor, Alicia Jiménez, who recalled that "at present there are 650 children who are enrolled in municipal sports schools."
