The improvement works at the CEIP Manuela Romero de Mazarrón benefit its more than 450 students, with an investment of more than 80,000 euros.
In concrete, the works have allowed to renovate two inclined roofs, one, of 240 square meters, in the pavilion of two floors that houses the dining room and a classroom and the second, of 32 square meters, in another pavilion of ground floor used for lecture .
These actions will prevent moisture infiltration and thermally isolate the pavilions.
In addition, new gutters and downpipes of white lacquered aluminum were installed, which provide greater strength and durability and integrate with the environment of the facade.
The general director of Educational Centers, Remedios Lajara, and the general director of Vocational Training and Special Education Teaching, Sergio López, visited the educational center, where Lajara stressed "the commitment of the regional government with the municipalities of the Region and with the improvement of the infrastructures to always look for the educational quality and the best development of the teaching and pedagogical activity ".
In addition, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports will expand next year the Vocational Training offer in Mazarrón with two new cycles, one of Basic FP in the XXI Century Center and the Medium Degree cycle 'Hairdressing and Hair Cosmetics' in the IES Felipe II, "with the objective of adapting the FP to the current and future needs of the companies", explained Sergio López.
