The General Directorate of Sustainability of the Coast and the Sea of the State through its Demarcation of Coasts of Murcia has sent, for its public exhibition, to the Municipality of Mazarrón the Agenda to the Project of Maritime Walk in the Playa del Alamillo, once projected the execution of the works.
The document, after publication in the BORM, will be available to anyone who wants to examine it within a period of 20 days in the Notice Board of the City of Mazarrón and in the premises of the Demarcation of Coasts in Murcia.
For the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, it is a step that "certifies the good progress of some steps initiated in 2015 and that are already beginning to bear fruit." It is an action that increases the tourist attraction of the municipality and responds to the demands made by the City Council in repeated visits to the Ministry and the Community, "says Alicia Jiménez.
A 4 kilometer promenade
The project includes the construction of a walk of 1,200 meters in length and 8 to 9 meters wide, complemented by bike lanes, gardens, street furniture and access walkways to the beach.
It has a budget of 2.9 million euros and a deadline of 9 months.
This new walk will link with the current promenade of Puerto de Mazarrón that ends in El Rihuete, thus generating a new walk with a total distance of close to 4 kilometers.
The action is born of the agreement of the three administrations.
For this the Ministry of Development of the Autonomous Region of Murcia has tendered the works to remodel the RM332 as it passes through El Alamillo, as a preliminary step to generate the necessary space that entails the construction of the new promenade.
Once the public information process has been completed, the project's agenda contemplates final approval and bidding for works.
