The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez and the councilor of Transport, Marisol Vivancos, received on Monday the visit of the general director of Transport, Coasts and Ports, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, who has presented the subsidy destined by the Regional Government to guarantee the bus service that connects Mula with Puerto de Mazarrón, through the MUR-082 concession.
The general manager explained that it is a grant that exceeds 24,000 euros with the aim of ensuring cohesion between territories of the Region of Murcia.
"A commitment is made to the transport company to offer a public service, regardless of its profitability, since it is a service of first necessity," said Díez de Revenga, who indicated the administration's commitment to favoring the use of the service. collective transport, in favor of environmental sustainability and the quality of life of citizens.
For the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, it is a necessary subsidy of a line that connects municipalities in the interior of the Region of Murcia with the beaches of Mazarrón.
The MUR-082 concession has four routes that connect Mula, Alhama de Murcia, Totana and Mazarrón with Puerto de Mazarrón, serving almost 30,000 passengers a year.
During the meeting has also been transmitted local demands on the improvement of other lines such as the one between Mazarrón and Cartagena, frequented for hospital appointments or transfer of university students who are studying at the Polytechnic University.
