Alicia Jiménez highlights the projection made by the municipality of a sport that has in Mazarrón the only open water swimming channel in the Region
On September 16, Bolnuevo and its coves will be the scene of a new 'Desafío Seaman' that will attract more than a hundred swimmers of medium and long distance from all over Spain.
Two tests of 4 and 8.5 kilometers will be carried out, scoring the latter for the Spanish Cup.
The swimmers will tour two circuits between the coves of Bolnuevo, with the Island of Cueva Lobos as a reference, the beach of Bolnuevo and Playa Grande.
This event was presented by the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, who highlighted "the bet that the City Council has been making for swimming in open waters, after organizing several swimming trips in recent years and especially after the recent opening of the the only existing open water swimming channel in the Region of Murcia and that it is located on the beach of Puerto de Mazarrón ".
The mayor also points out that "with this type of events that are organized and finished the summer is intended to deseasonalize the offer and give greater performance to the hospitality sector of the municipality.".
This new 'Desafío Seaman' has been presented by Alicia Jiménez next to the Rincón de Bolnuevo beach in the company of the Councilor for Sports of the City of Mazarrón, Patricio Sánchez, of the head of the swimming club Máster Murcia, María José Montesinos and the director test technician, José Luis Limia.
