During the last festive bridge, Mazarron hosted two days of seabed cleaning organized by the diving clubs Hispania and Sureste-Bachisub.
In the sum of both activities there were about 300 participants.
Last Friday, October 12, coinciding with Hispanidad, the Hispania diving center celebrated the Seabed Cleaning Day in the Bay of Mazarrón.
About thirty divers participated in the activity.
From the organization say that "the diversity of populations is always noteworthy in these days, Murcia, Madrid, Alicante, English, Scottish and for the first time a Hungarian diver joined by the same cause."
The event was organized in two shifts throughout the morning.
"Nearly one hundred kilos of garbage were brought up to the surface, and the area behind the fishing pier was tracked and cleaned to the lighthouse cove." The organization is grateful for their collaboration to the Town Council of Mazarrón, Anju Fishing Club, Hortisa Padi, Mares, Divers Magazine, Buzo Salao, Hotel Alegría dos Playas, Restaurant Viggos and Bar el Estadio.
For its part on Saturday, October 13, the Southeast Diving Center Bachisub organized the activity in Mazarrón of the National Network of Marine Rangers, gathering 250 participants who tracked both beaches and seabeds.
In total it was possible to recover, as reported by the National Network of Marine Rangers, a ton and a half of garbage.
From the support vessels, the divers have accessed the different points where it was planned to intervene: Puerto Deportivo, Escollera del Puerto Pesquero, Bajo de Emilio, Cala Faro, Escollera Club de Regatas and the Island of Paco.
By land, the volunteers have removed the waste from Playa de Bahía, Playa Nares, Cabezo del Gavilán and La Grúa. As in previous editions of the Great Cleanup of Seabed, Mazarrón has been one of the points with more participation;
has counted with some 200 divers from Murcia and Madrid, as well as numerous volunteers on land.
