Citizen collaboration has been crucial for the resolution of the action
They are two habitual criminals in the area
The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, in the framework of the operation 'Rubatai 1', has located and arrested two habitual criminals of Mazarrón, after being surprised while assaulting three houses in the town.
The events took place in the Port of Mazarrón last Saturday, November 10, when, thanks to the collaboration of citizens, the Benemérita was alerted to the possible imminent commission of several robberies in some houses in the town.
After the warning, in which suspicious noises were reported in some dwellings, the Prevention of Citizen Security of the Benemérita troops went to the place to verify the facts and, in their case, to frustrate the culmination of the criminal act and arrest its authors.
The Civil Guards carried out a battering in the area and also heard suspicious noises in the backyards of the houses, where it was verified that their residents were not in the buildings.
Given the suspicion that there might be people inside committing robberies, the agents carried out a series of checks that allowed them to detect a disturbance inside the houses and observe that a window was open just where the noise came from.
One of the agents that integrated the device detected the existence of two men inside the houses.
These, to be cornered by the Civil Guard, ignored the indications of the agents and fled across the rooftops and surrounding courtyards, so it was made a batde for the surrounding homes, finally reaching one of them to reach 50 meters from the place where he had allegedly jumped, proceeding to arrest him as alleged perpetrator of a crime of burglary in the interior of a house.
After the first arrest, the civil guards continued with the search device on the other suspect.
Some neighbors in the area alerted the agents that in a house next to the previous ones there were noises, so the Civil Guards made the pertinent checks and detected the presence of the second author of the robberies, which was jumping through the backyards of the houses.
The second suspect was located and arrested shortly thereafter thanks to the purse-seine device established by the agents in the area of the houses affected by those now arrested.
Both detainees, who are allegedly responsible for three crimes of burglary in housing, are common criminals in the town who have a large criminal record and the fact that they are siblings.
Thanks to the collaboration of citizens, the Civil Guard has located and arrested the two alleged perpetrators of the robberies, thus succeeding in frustrating the culmination of the criminal acts.
The Spanish detainees, aged 38 and 43, residents of Mazarrón and with numerous records for similar crimes and the proceedings ordered have been made available to the Court of Instruction number Totana (Murcia).
