Last Saturday, the celebration of the Permanent International Seminar on the Borders of the Iberian and Mediterranean Worlds took place in the Municipal Archaeological Museum-Factoria Romana de Salazones, which this year added its sixth edition in Mazarrón and had the title 'Representing the Mediterranean in the modern world. '
The Seminar was attended by specialists from Italy, France and Mexico, as well as speakers from the Universities of Valladolid-Instituto Simancas, Autónoma de Madrid and Jaume I de Castellón.
The meeting was about how it was seen and how it was intended to see the Mediterranean in the sixteenth and seventeenth century, from the perspective of diplomacy, art and geohistory.
The Seminar, consolidated for more than five years in Mazarrón is organized by the City Council, the Municipal Museum, the Universities of Murcia and Rome Three, the Chair of Naval History, the Floridablanca Seminar and the Columnar Network with its continuity in these years has allowed To turn Mazarrón into the capital of studies on the modern Mediterranean.
Good proof of this is the volume El Siglo de la Inmaculada .. The Iberian worlds in their Golden Age. The book that was presented in this edition gathers the results of the congress of the same title celebrated last year in the town and that is an important volume to understand what implied the inclusion of the Iberian world in global modernity.
