In 2018 the local CAVI office recorded 55 new cases

The mayor, Alicia Jiménez, proceeded to read the institutional manifesto and gave way to secondary school students in the municipality and users of the Day Center for Intellectual Disability who made a sample of the work they have been doing in recent days.
The activity 'Zumba por la Igualdad' by Juan Antonio Iglesias put the musical note to the meeting.
In the afternoon, at the Cultural Center, the theater group of the IES Domingo Valdivieso performed the play 'The history repeats' and this Saturday, Red Cross Mazarrón has conducted an awareness workshop in the weekly market of Mazarrón.
Next Wednesday, November 28, the Local Coordination Table against Gender Violence is convened at City Hall
Throughout this year, 55 new cases of gender violence have been registered in the CAVI de Mazarrón office.
Of these, 31 cases have been reported to have suffered physical abuse and in 21 complaints have been filed, with 11 cases of protection orders.
36 of the new cases correspond to women of Spanish nationality, being the rest of other nationalities diverse.
Currently, there are 63 women in Mazarrón with a protection order.
Its follow-up is coordinated with the Civil Guard.
Five children have been referred to the Psychological Care Service for Minors (SAPMEX) and another 5 mothers for psychological counseling.
New service for victims of sexual harassment
Through the General Directorate of Women, the City of Mazarrón offers a new service that is provided from the Center for Attention to Women Victims of Sexual Abuse and Harassment (CAVAX).
This new service is provided from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with the telephone number 968221900, in addition to the 112.
