The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Tomás, and the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, attended today the commemoration of the Day of the Major, on the occasion of the Feast of Purism, where users of the day center and of the social center of the municipality had all the protagonism in a very meaningful day for them.

Violante Tomás thanked everyone for "the great contribution they make to society thanks to the values ​​they represent and their life experience".

In addition, he especially highlighted the interest of the elderly in the workshops given in the centers of the municipality, which include computer, yoga or hiking - the most popular - to tai chi, ballroom dancing or painting.

These activities are aimed at optimizing health and encouraging the participation of the elderly to improve their quality of life and as part of the active aging process.

The Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities, through the IMAS, subsidizes this center with a contribution of 210,000 euros.
