On the 40th anniversary of the Spanish Constitution of 1978, Mazarrón celebrated his traditional agenda of institutional events that began in the Garden of Peace next to the monument that reminds Mazarron victims of Nazi barbarism in the Mauthausen concentration camp.
The mayor, Alicia Jiménez and the spokespersons of the municipal groups of Izquierda Unida, Socialist Party, Independent Union of Mazarrón, Citizens of Democratic Center, Socialist Alternative, Independent Party by Mazarrón and Popular Party dedicated some words in memory of those citizens of the municipality who lost their lives after being deported and sent to an extermination camp in Germany.
The act ended with the reading of a poem by Arancha Silva.
Next, in Town Hall the Extraordinary Plenary was held to mark the anniversary of the Spanish Constitution of 1978. In the Plenary Hall, the municipal corporation in its entirety showed its unity in favor of constitutional principles.
Each of the spokespersons chose an article of the Magna Carta to which he proceeded to read.

As it is already a tradition, after the Extraordinary Plenary, a Children's Plenary took place with the participation of ESO's First students and users of the Day Center for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities.
The participating students were Alba Ruiz and Jessica Dokaj of the XXI Century School, Laura Paños and Sofía Ballesta of the IES Felipe II, David Sánchez and Alicia Ramón of the IES Domingo Valdivieso and Catalina Hernández and Leonor Morales of the Day Center. After the corresponding readings, we proceeded to the family photo.
Finally, the agenda of institutional events culminated with the tribute to the national flag in the Avenue of the Constitution with the participation of the Band the Association of Mazarrón along with the accompaniment of neighbors who wanted to accompany the event.
