The Community is developing refurbishment work and remodeling of the port of Mazarrón in order to improve facilities and services for fishermen and users.
The general director of Transport, Coasts and Ports, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, and the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, today made a visit to the actions that are taking place in the port that will mainly benefit the fishermen.
The action, which has a deadline of one month and a half, "will mean improving the safety and working conditions of the fishing sector of Mazarrón, responding to their demands to adapt these facilities to their needs," explained the managing Director.
The main action of this work is the reinforcement of the berthing dock on the south shore of the port, over a length of 60 meters, where the boats used to transport fishing dock to perform the tasks of loading and unloading passengers or goods.
Likewise, the entrance pavement to the fish market will be arranged to facilitate the loading and unloading of the fish, the waterproofing of the huts will be improved to store the tools and toilets have been built for the fishermen.
For these actions, the regional government has allocated more than 133,000 euros.
