The deputy of the Socialist Parliamentary Group Yolanda Fernández will request the appearance in the Assembly of the Minister of Employment, Universities, Business and Environment, Javier Celdrán, to explain the actions that his Council will adopt on the occasion of the fire in the plant of biomass of Pastrana, (Mazarrón).
Yolanda Fernández expressed her concern about the environmental consequences that this event could have, while she recalled that since 2011 there has been evidence by the Local Police of this municipality of the existence of irregular activity in an illegal dump and, therefore, , with serious fire danger;
an activity that "apparently was regularized in 2014", although it has continued to give problems, as reflected in the 2017 report of the Environmental Planning and Evaluation Service of the General Directorate of the Environment.
This document recommends paralyzing and proceeding to the suspension of the activity in the two plots affected, for not complying with the conditions for which they are authorized, as they are storing waste without identifying destination, unauthorized waste and in addition the dangerous characteristics of the same are unknown.
The Socialist parliamentarian added that, as a result of said report, from the Environmental Management and Discipline Service, the beginning of the procedure of reestablishment of the environmental legality for the aforementioned breach was agreed.

These neighbors have shown their concern on numerous occasions before the public administrations for the state of these plots, but have not received a response.
Abandonment of ecologists
