Last Sunday the Mazarron painter Tomás Raja died.
Numerous samples of condolence have been sent these days about the loss of a local artist who transmitted his art and especially his love for Mazarrón.
At the end of September 2018, Raja extended the summer days in Mazarrón with his exhibition 'Long Summer Days', a show that collected different beach scenes from different points of the Mazarron coastline.
Again the color and the expressiveness that characterized Raja showed in this sample that had a warm welcome among the Mazarron.
Tomás Raja was also the author of the cover of the last book of the Patron Saint Festivals, which he attended on November 23rd.
The artist then showed his satisfaction because the City Council chose for this cover a watercolor of his that showed an aerial perspective of the Sanctuary of La Purisima.
It was one of the many works that the artist bequeathed to the town of Mazarrón and that were shown over the last years in different exhibitions.
Soon the City Council will initiate the necessary procedures to pay tribute to the figure of Tomás Raja.
The details will be announced in the near future.
