Pedro A. Rodríguez Hurtado presented on Tuesday 'Enlightened History of Mazarrón', a work '' that will be of great interest to Mazarrón and especially for the educational community, "as indicated by Mayor Alicia Jiménez during the presentation of this work for the that the author has counted on the advice of the Official Chronicler of the Villa, Mariano Guillén.
'Illustrated History of Mazarrón' brings the reader, in an agile and entertaining way, to the most outstanding events that happened on this earth from its first settlers to the present.
Divided into twenty stages, it gathers the highlights of each of the eras with its different civilizations and its legacies.
This informative work is born of the interest shown by the Department of Culture of the City of Mazarrón that joins other municipalities in the southeast peninsular that also entrusted the work of the Murcian author.
A total of 17 cities, including Murcia, Lorca, Aguilas, Jumilla, Yecla, Guadix, Baza, Alhama de Murcia or Calpe are also counted on the work of Pedro Hurtado in similar publications.
In addition to Mariano Guillén, other bibliographical sources consulted by the author have been the publications of Carlos Ferrándiz, María Martínez Alcalde or the different minutes of the Carlantum Days organized by the Popular University of Mazarrón.
The book will be on sale today in the bookstores of the municipality.
The mayor, Alicia Jiménez, announced that the City will donate two copies to the educational centers and libraries.
