The Councilor for Youth of the City of Mazarrón, Patricio Sánchez, attended last weekend to the presentation of the first Youth Plan of the Region of Murcia that includes more than 600 proposals from a total of 350 groups.
The meeting, which was attended by the president of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, served to show all those actions and measures planned to serve 430,000 young people between 14 and 36 years.
It is a cross-sectional project, which includes all the actions that the regional government will perform on Youth until the year 2023. It covers areas as diverse as education and training, employment and entrepreneurship, health and well-being, participation, volunteering, inclusion social and creativity and culture, among others.
The planned investment for the application of this Plan is 125 million euros for the five years of validity.
Specifically, the Plan includes 105 measures, and all these actions are aimed at more than 430,000 young people between 14 and 36 years old in the Region of Murcia, more than 25 percent of the total population.
Actions of the Youth Plan
The Youth Plan of the Region of Murcia contemplates enabling a stock of rental housing for young people.
On the other hand, the offer of the youth card +30 will be expanded to provide greater access to culture, sports and a variety of leisure activities, including discounts in shops.
Musical contests, social concerts or the Biennial of young Murcia creators in audiovisual disciplines will be organized, which means an authentic promotion of these young talents.
Environmental education will be promoted in young people, focusing on the Mar Menor;
school gardens and activities in nature will be encouraged.
The nautical sports activities will be extended throughout the year, as well as the offer of the Network of Youth Hostels in the Region.
Among the actions contained in the Youth Plan of the Region of Murcia is the promotion of young entrepreneurship, with training and advisory actions already from the Secondary Education, as well as the empowerment of education in values ​​with the realization of prevention campaigns on Problems such as addictions to drug addictions, alcohol, social networks or over ludopathies.
Given this, it is committed to free time educational activities, sports and intergenerational communication.
Likewise, youth information points will be increased, resource centers will be created for this group in the municipalities, the Youth Council will be reactivated and the creation of local councils will be encouraged, as well as the figure of youth correspondents, the intercultural mediator and the volunteer inclusive.
