The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, received on Monday the visit of the general director of Water, Sebastián Delgado, to address issues of municipal interest.
Among them was a canalization project that solves deficiencies in the hamlet of Camposol as well as the commissioning of a study to find an optimal solution to the supply problems originated in the hamlet of Valdelentisco.
Also, the general director of the Water, accompanied by the mayor, visited the fine state of the street Villarico de los Alumbres after the completion of the renovation works of the drinking water network that will alleviate the continuous breakdowns that registered this point of the nucleus urban of Mazarrón.
At the request of the City Council, the General Directorate of Water of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia has invested 45,000 euros in the installation of about 160 meters of ductile cast iron pipe replacing the previous pipes of fiber cement and polyethylene that, according to the technicians, generated continuous damage and consequently successive repairs of the road
In addition, the General Directorate of Water has carried out in the municipality the installation of a remote control system and the improvement of the deposit of the mining preserve will tackle the problems of specific shortages that were caused in the districts of Cañada de Gallego and Pastrana in times of limitation of supply, mainly due to drought.
The entrance and exit facilities have been modified, collecting the flow and deposit level data, leading to remote control for filling it.
Likewise, some 60 meters of the exit line have been renewed, which has allowed the elimination of a high point that conditioned the response of the tank to a void.
The action has been executed and financed by the Water General Directorate and has involved an investment of 47,000 euros.
