The Phoenician Ship Monitoring Commission has held a new meeting on Thursday to analyze the results of the latest surveys carried out in the vicinity of the island's beach. Geophysical studies, as reported by the professor at the University of Valencia Carlos De Juan, allow to determine that the existence of new wrecks to those already found at the end of the 80s and early 90s is ruled out. "A lot of Phoenician ceramic material has been found and some elements suggest that boats of the moment shot their ballasts to the water to load their products, what speaks of a use with nautical purposes of this bay ", has indicated the expert.
Alicia Jiménez, mayor of Mazarrón, attended a meeting that was attended by members of the three administrations and the technical committee that the commission meets regularly.
