The works to improve accessibility and renovation of lighting on Avenida del Castellar begin.
Shortly work will begin on the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, as well as the adaptation of the streets Puerto Rico, Atlantic Ocean, Sierra Morena, Corredera and Subida del Faro
The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, and the Councilor for Infrastructure, Pedro Martínez, visited this Monday in the Avenida del Castellar the place where the first of the actions contemplated in the Works and Services Plan of Mazarrón has begun, which will mean an investment total of 613,307.62 euros in the municipality.
The investment plan in actions includes three main actions: the improvement of accessibility and renewal of public lighting in the Avenida del Castellar, the adaptation of the Corredera, Puerto Rico, Atlantic and Sierra Morena streets and the renovation of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento .
Improvement of accessibility in Avenida del Castellar
In the Avenida del Castellar has begun to act on a section of it, improving the road safety of vehicles and pedestrians, providing adequate lighting and an accessible route.
The project includes the repair of sidewalks that are in poor condition by enabling a pedestrian path marked with markers and horizontal signs in areas where there is no paved sidewalk.
The street lighting to be installed includes 24 lampposts 8 meters high and LED technology.
This action involves an investment of 106,734.03 euros of which 30,372.67 belong to the City Council and the rest to the Autonomous Community.
Adequacy of streets, urbanization and sidewalks
The action in Corredera Street and Subida del Faro will mean the development of a section of Corredera Street, currently made of land, providing accessible sidewalks and public lighting.
Pavements will also be built on a section of the Lighthouse Subida that currently lacks them.
Previously, the complete renovation of the sanitation and drinking water network in the area will be undertaken through the Sanitation Investment Plan.
On Puerto Rico Street, new sidewalks will be built on both sides using cobblestone paving, eliminating existing obstacles.
The final section of the street, next to the beach, will be paved in a single platform for pedestrian use.
The street lighting will be renewed with 7 8-meter high streetlights and LED technology.
Likewise, the asphalting of the Atlantic Ocean and Vivero streets (about 1,000 m2) will also be carried out, as well as the renewal of the drinking water branch of the last street.
In the Sierra Morena street of the Bahia Urbanization, some 160 meters of sidewalk will be made in an area that currently lacks it.
In addition, public lighting will be installed in the same section, consisting of 7 9-meter high streetlights and LED technology.
The existing luminaires will be replaced by other LED technology so that the lighting of the entire block is uniform.
This set of actions involves an investment of 208,700.80 euros, of which 42,614.80 euros belong to the City Council and the rest to the Autonomous Community.
Renovation of the Town Hall Square
The Plaza del Ayuntamiento will see its image renewed in all existing services: sanitation, potable water, rainwater and street lighting.
The entire paving will be renewed by natural stone.
The action includes the extension of the pedestrian zone to the sections of Ana Moreno and San Antonio streets.
Likewise, accessibility to the San Antonio church, town hall and town hall will be improved, covering an area of ​​approximately 2,200 m2.
This action involves an investment of 297,872.79 euros, of which 81,931.15 euros belong to the City Council and the rest to the Autonomous Community.
