From March 15 to 24, Puerto de Mazarrón will screen its leisure offer on the occasion of the Fiestas de San José.
The Plaza de Abastos and the Paseo Marítimo will be the main stages of a few days that will serve as an attraction for those who wish to visit the town coinciding with the festive bridge.
The program has been presented by the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, along with the councilman of Celebrations, Patricio Sánchez.
The mayor highlighted the participatory nature of parties open to all public and designed for the enjoyment of the residents of the municipality and as an attractive element for those who visit Mazarrón during the festive bridge.
Pure Plaza
The Plaza de Abastos de Puerto de Mazarrón will host from March 16 to 19 the second edition of 'Pura Plaza', a gastronomic event with the participation of five venues and entertained with the musical performances of 'The Tracks' and 'El Luiso'.
The participating venues (Nueva Bodeguita, D'Tapas, Fizz, La Mesegura and Polvorín) will present three daily tapas, one of which will be fixed throughout the fair.
A guest chef of honor will be in charge of announcing the name of the winning tapa.
In its first edition, Fizz was the restaurant recognized with the prize for the best tapa.
The opening hours will be from 12:00 to 23:00 hours, Saturday 16, Sunday 17 and Monday 18 and from 12:00 to 17:00 hours on Tuesday, March 19.
The performance of 'The Tracks' will take place on Saturday March 16 at 3:30 pm, while 'El Luiso' will perform on Sunday March 17 also at 3:30 pm.
As a novelty, the fairground attractions of the Fiestas de San José will be located this year next to the Plaza de Abastos of Puerto de Mazarrón, in the Sierra del Algarrobo street.
Tapa Route
The gastronomic offer is completed with the Ruta de la Tapa in which 11 establishments will offer their best tapas from 15 to 24 March.
Participating venues, once the registration deadline will be: Bar Restaurante Espigón, Cervecería Ángel, Avenida Restaurant, La Perra Chica, La Sal, Poniente Playa, DeTapas, La Vuelta Bar, Sagitario Restaurant, Nueva Bodeguita and Hotel Playa Grande.
These establishments will offer the public a single tapa that can be presented hot or cold and that will be served preferably at the bar, during the opening hours of the premises.
Activities on the Promenade
The Maritime Promenade of Puerto de Mazarrón will be the other main stage of the Fiestas de San José.
In this place will be hosted on Sunday March 17 an exhibition of classic vehicles from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, also the same day there will be a skate, roller, scooter and biker exhibition, as well as an orchard parade from the Rihuete, from 11:00 hours.
The music will also sound on the Paseo Marítimo by the hand of 'Mara Bang Band'.
It will be on Tuesday, March 19 at 9:30 p.m.
At its end, a Fireworks Castle will be held from the Puerto beach.
On Monday March 18 will be held in the pavilion of the CEIP Miguel Delibes food coexistence of the elderly.
Liturgical programming
The religious acts are concentrated on March 19, day of San José, patron of Puerto de Mazarrón.
At 08:30 hours the transfer of the auxiliary image to the Paseo Marítimo will take place.
There will be chocolate with monkeys for the participants upon arrival.
At 12:30, the Solemn Eucharist will take place in the Plaza of the Autonomous Communities.
In the afternoon, at 7:00 pm, Mass in honor of San José sung by the choir 'Asociación Arte Lírica XXI' and its end procession from the church of San José.
