The Government Council meeting on Tuesday in Mazarrón has authorized the expenditure of 560,000 euros, charged to the budget of the Regional Wastewater Treatment and Sanitation Entity (Esamur), for the construction of a treatment plant in the mazarronera hamlet of La Majada, with a deadline of seven months.
The district, which has a registered population of 214 inhabitants, currently has a sanitation network with discharge to the La Majada ravine, after treatment by a filtering well.
Given the deficit situation of this well, it has been planned to build an adequate treatment station to treat the wastewater flows of the population, which will allow the direct discharge of the treated water to the public channel, complying with the regulations in force.
The treatment plant will have a biological treatment system for prolonged oxidation and subsequent disinfection, with a capacity of 22 m3 per day.
It will also include pumping of raw water, pretreatment with a 3 mm mesh screen, aeration and decanting enclosure and service building, among other aspects.
The installation will be completed with the necessary general systems, including emergency generator set.
