The plan includes the deployment of 3 small cells to provide service in tourist areas of great agglomeration

Users increasingly consume more mobile data and the largest increase is recorded every year in summer, especially in tourist areas where the population increases.

To meet this demand, the operator has invested 1.4 million euros this year in the Region of Murcia to expand the capacity of its power plants and improve the coverage of its mobile network.

The company has reinforced the mobile network of 80 sites located mainly in the coastal strip.

This is the case of populations such as Águilas, San Javier or Mazarrón.

And, these locations multiply by three their population during the summer months and therefore require a specific reinforcement.

Likewise, it has also deployed two new facilities that expand the coverage: Cartagena and Cabo de Palos and 3 small cells in tourist areas of great agglomeration.

The company has been working since the end of last year to strengthen the capacity of telephone stations in the Region of Murcia in order to provide maximum coverage during the summer period.

Likewise, a special parameterization has been applied in all the sites related to the largest accumulations of tourists.

These actions will allow the reinforcement of 4G in the 800 MHz band and the densification of the 4G footprint in the 1,800 and 2,600 MHz bands. In addition, it has expanded the capacity to manage calls and data traffic through the expansion of equipment and licenses, complemented by an adaptation and optimization of the spectrum.

The objective of this plan to reinforce infrastructures is to optimize mobile coverage and significantly improve the quality of service, allowing the connection of more users.

The company continuously updates its work plans in the territory to improve high-speed connections from mobile devices, due to the fact that practically 100% of Internet users connect regularly from the telephone.
