The parish of Leiva closed yesterday its patronal celebrations paying honors to its patron, the Virgin of the Carmen, with a misa officiated in the hermitage of the parish.
The traditions and coexistence have been the protagonists of these celebrations that started last Friday with the proclamation of Concha Vivancos who received a plaque with this recognition from the hands of the councilman of Celebrations, Miguel Angel Peña.
That same night, the bands were given to queens and místeres of the parties that had the exceptional presence of the Secretary of Organization of the Socialist Party of the Region of Murcia, Diego Conesa, who was accompanied by the mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, and of the councilors of the Government Team Plácida Gómez, Miguel Ángel Peña, Raquel Raja and Francisco José García.
This year, the queen of the Third Age has been Ginesa Martínez, the Junior Queen Mercedes Vivancos, the Infantile Queen Andrea Sánchez, the Infantile Mister Alejandro Halcón and the Mister Jesus Jesús Méndez.
All of them have enjoyed a few days of coexistence as it happened with the tasting of a great paella in which were present the councilman of Celebrations with Plácida Gómez and Conchi Aparicio.
The parties continued throughout the weekend with activities for both children and adults and ended last night with the delivery of a plaque to the older neighbor, Isabel Cañavate, after the celebration of the mass.
The plaque was delivered by the Councilman of Pedanías, José María Moreno, and the pedáneo mayor, Juan Pedro Rabal, who were accompanied by the Councilor for Services, Tomás Ureña.
