Mazarrón has lived an intense cultural weekend in which poetry, music and crafts have been the protagonists.
Last night, the seventh edition of the 'Veranos Musicales Villa de Mazarrón' was closed with great public success with the presence of the Mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, and the president of the Musical Association 'Maestro Eugenio Calderón', Paqui Ureña, whose band The owner offered an entertaining concert full of popular pieces very applauded by the audience.
Within this cycle, on Saturday night they performed the band-school of the Association 'Friends of Culture' of Chirivel and the youth band of the Musical Association 'Maestro Eugenio Calderón' of Mazarrón.
The act was attended by the mayor of Chirivel, José Torregrosa, and the councilor for Culture of the aforementioned town, Paqui Zamora, who were accompanied by the councilor of Citizen Participation, José María Moreno, and the Councilor for Education, Conchi Aparicio.
The Almeria band received a pennant for their participation in this event.
But this has not been the only cultural activity this weekend, because the viewpoint 'Agustín López Cano' hosted a new recital of poetry of the 'Mares de Papel' series that this year has reached its V edition.
Participated in Eva Mª Raja, winner of the Municipal Youth poetry contest 'Declára-Te';
and Enrique Tárraga, Germán Cervinos and Carmen Gómez, as winners respectively of the first, second and third prize of the Municipal Poetry Contest 'Declára-Te' for adults.
They completed this evening of poetry by the sea, the Reading Club of the Municipal Public Library 'Gómez Jordana' whose members recited poems by various authors.
Even the mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, who was accompanied by the councilors of the government team Tomás Ureña, Miguel Ángel Peña, Conchi Aparicio and Raquel Raja;
he encouraged to recite some beautiful words of José Agustín Goytisolo and congratulated the Department of Archives and Libraries with which he committed to "promote initiatives like this that promote Art and Culture, encourage freedom of expression and serve to enhance the talent of creators ".
The Artisan Market, which can be visited every third Saturday of the month on the seafront of the Port, completed this weekend appointment with Culture and Art.
The artisans received the visit of the Councilor for Trade and Consumption, Silvia García, and the Councilor for Services, Tomás Ureña, who gathered their ideas to also promote this event with handicrafts that is also a tourist attraction for residents and visitors.
