On August 12, World Youth Day is celebrated and, on the occasion of this celebration, the City Council of Mazarrón has prepared a program of activities aimed at the youth of the municipality in which the Red Cross Mazarrón and the Youth Embassy participate. from the Region of Murcia.
The program of activities was presented by the Councilor for Youth, Silvia García, who was accompanied by the president of the Red Cross Mazarrón, Carmen Navarro, and the Youth Ambassador in the Region of Murcia, Francisco Acosta.
The first activity that will take place will take place on Saturday, August 10 at La Casa del Mar. It will be a meeting with all those young people between 14 and 30 who want to attend to discuss employment opportunities for young people from Mazarronera, as well as the needs of rural youth.
The activity, financed by the Youth Council of Spain and the Erasmus program of the European Union, "will consist of two appointments, one at eleven in the morning and another at six in the afternoon, where we will analyze the possible problems and solutions that affect young people in this regard, "said Acosta.
On the other hand, on August 12, the departments of Youth and Sports have joined forces to offer young people a day in which they can practice different free activities such as baptism diving, kayaking, beach volleyball and frisbee.
They will take place on the promenade of Puerto de Mazarrón and to participate in any of them, those interested, who must be between 12 and 30 years old, must sign up by going to the sports hall of 'La Aceña' in Mazarrón, calling 968 59 18 52 or by writing an email to depormaza@mazarron.es, as places are limited.
That same day, Red Cross Mazarrón will carry out "two prevention workshops, one on drugs and alcohol, a problem that directly affects young people because its use begins in adolescence and increasingly at younger ages, but in which we will also discuss addiction to video games, social networks, platforms, mobile phones and, ultimately, all the tools associated with technology that have become a new source of addiction, "explained Carmen Navarro.
The other workshop revolves around "affective-sexual education, explaining how an emotional relationship begins, moving on to personal and, if it reaches a sexual relationship, whether it is desired or unwanted, the prevention of pregnancy, the prevention of sexual diseases that have increased due to lack of awareness and information that are very easy to transmit but that could also be very easy to prevent and eradicate with the appropriate means, "explained Navarro.
Both workshops will be held on the Paseo de La Sal from 10 at night to one in the morning.
