The consul of Ecuador in Murcia, Daniel Peñaranda, visited Mazarrón City Hall this morning where he was received by the mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, and the first deputy mayor, Ginés Campillo.
The reason for the visit was to know first hand in which space his mobile consulate was going to be located that will arrive in Mazarrón on August 17 and that will serve the Ecuadorian community from 12 noon to 7 in the afternoon.
The chosen place has been one of the rooms of the Cresta del Gallo, specifically one located on the ground floor of the building which is accessed immediately from the back door of the building.
The mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, stressed that "we have had a productive meeting and the City Council has been totally willing to try to provide more service to the mazarroneros of Ecuadorian origin", a service that "will be provided on the day of the feast of the Virgin of the Swan, patron of Ecuador, which is celebrated here fervently and for which many people come from other parts of the Region who may also benefit from the information service of the mobile consulate, "said the mayor.
Daniel Peñaranda thanked "the predisposition and haste that the city has had to give us this space in which we will process passport renewal, renewal of identification cards, information on procedures and documents, among others."
It is not the first time that the mobile consulate comes to Mazarrón, but it is the first in which a municipal space is enabled to make the consulate's work more comfortable and in optimal conditions.
The consul has also thanked the town council's willingness to "work hand in hand in the different projects linked to our community that will allow the group to feel protected and protected not only by the consulate but also by the town hall."
For Peñaranda "it is good that citizens know that thanks to this new link we will generate cultural promotion and commercial activities from the town hall."
For his part, the first deputy mayor, Ginés Campillo, has praised "the deference and intelligence of the consul approaching the administration to citizens, which is sometimes not easy" and highlighted the commitment of the administration with these neighbors of Mazarrón "They create positive synergies in our economy because they work here, consume here, have bought their homes here and are fully integrated into the Mazarronera society."
